    Key Responsibilities

    • Clean and service resident rooms, offices, dining areas, stairwells, and common spaces.
    • Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and polish surfaces.
    • Wash walls, windows, wheelchairs, geri-chairs, elevators, and tracks.
    • Gather and dispose of refuse and hazardous waste.
    • Replenish supplies such as soap, towels, and toilet tissue.
    • Maintain janitor's utility room and care for assigned tools and materials.
    • Assist with moving furniture and supplies.
    • Set up for meetings and events.
    • Shovel snow from walkways and steps.
    • Respond to spills and accidents promptly.
    • Follow sanitation and infection control procedures.
    • Attend departmental meetings and in-service training.
    • Demonstrate effective communication with geriatric residents.

    Qualifications

    • High school diploma or GED preferred.
    • Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
    • Positive references.
    • Ability to work under time constraints.

    Physical Demands

    • Frequent standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching.
    • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs frequently; occasionally up to 100 lbs.
    • Manual dexterity for grasping, typing, and writing.
    • Visual acuity to perceive and distinguish details.
    • Exposure to dust, fumes, odors, chemicals, and fluctuating temperatures.
    • Tolerance for noise and vibration.

    Non-Physical Demands

    • Ability to analyze, evaluate, and organize tasks.
    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to follow safety protocols and infection control procedures.
    • Attendance and punctuality are essential.

    The Environmental Service Worker is responsible for performing a variety of cleaning and sanitation tasks to maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for residents, staff, and visitors.

    Full-time (30+ hours/week) UNION position
