Ohio EPA wants you to serve in this role within the Division of Environmental Response and Revitalization (DERR) at our Northeast District Office in Summit County.

Why We Need You:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented person to perform district site coordinator and RCRA Inspector duties for hazardous waste facilities undergoing site assessment and cleanup through Ohio's Voluntary Action Program (VAP) and other state and federal programs.

You'll review, prepare and/or implement work plans, sampling, reports, and technical memoranda associated with assigned sites/properties. You'll investigate complaints, assess sites of contaminated environmental or waste-related media to verify compliance with existing permits and/or state and federal regulations and determine the effectiveness of existing remedial remedies.

You'll coordinate with agency personnel and other state and federal agencies to assist responsible parties and hazardous waste facilities with non-compliance issues and identify and initiate necessary enforcement actions when necessary.

You'll provide technical assistance to agency and state legal staff, consultants, and the regulated community on compliance with requirements in DERR's hazardous waste and cleanup programs.

Here's a rundown of the major tasks:

  • Review/prepare/implement work plans and technical memoranda for properties undergoing environmental site assessment and cleanup actions.

  • Inspect facilities for compliance with negotiated orders, state and federal regulations, and permit requirements.

  • Perform assessments of contaminated environmental or waste related media.
