Job Responsibilities:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITIONS:

  • Lead the facility hazardous waste program in full compliance with RCRA (40 CFR 260-273) and Large Quantity Generator (LQG) requirements, including waste classification, accumulation areas, inspections, manifests, LDRs, and biennial reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with DOT Hazardous Materials Regulations (49 CFR 171-180) by properly classifying hazardous materials and overseeing compliant shipment and transportation practices.
  • Coordinate all environmental compliance activities, maintaining and overseeing the ISO 14001 & ISO 45001 Management Systems, serving as Plant Lead Auditor, and supporting certification and third-party audits.
  • Monitor, report, and drive continuous improvement of Environmental, Health, and Safety Management Systems through management reviews, corrective action tracking, and performance reporting.
  • Identify, evaluate, and mitigate workplace health and safety risks through facility inspections, accident investigations, hazard analyses, and corrective/preventive action recommendations.
  • Develop, implement, and coordinate EHS policies, permits, training programs, and safety communications to promote regulatory compliance and safety culture.
  • Serve as an EHS technical resource to leadership and departments, facilitating safety meetings, maintaining records, overseeing consultants, and supporting legal, insurance, and regulatory inquiries.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor's (BS or BA) Degree in Environmental Health and Safety, or related degree.
  • CSP, CIH, or CHMM certification is preferred.
  • Wastewater certification a plus.

WORK EXPERIENCE / TECHNICAL TRAINING:

  • Requires 5+ years of experience in EHS position in a manufacturing environment.
  • Requires certification in ISO 14001, ISO 45001, or ability to obtain certification within six months of being hired.
  • Requires strong computer skills in MS Word, Excel, and Powerpoint.

Pay range: $65,000 - $85,000 annual salary
