Description
The Environmental Specialist, Water is responsible for oversight of the Plaquemines LNG water management program. This includes overseeing water treatment systems, monitoring water quality, managing wastewater discharge, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations, and training staff on water management practices.
Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive water management program for the Plaquemines LNG facility.
Oversee water treatment systems to ensure they function efficiently and meet water quality standards.
Conduct regular water quality monitoring and analysis, including sampling and analysis.
Manage wastewater discharges in compliance with site LPDES discharge permits.
Prepare and submit required reports to external agencies (LDEQ, EPA, etc.) on water usage, treatment, and discharge monitoring reports (DMRs).
Maintain records to demonstrate compliance with all applicable water regulations.
Conduct inspections and compliance verification of all water management systems and infrastructure, including sanitary treatment units at the facility.
Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of facility Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure (SPCC) Plans.
Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of facility Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP).
Prepare and provide training to staff for topics relevant to waste water discharge, stormwater management, potable water, and spill prevention & response.
Research and maintain knowledge of federal and state water quality regulations.
Assist in the development of water permit applications for planned activities and projects at the facility.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering or a related field.
3 years of experience in industrial water management or environmental compliance in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
Demonstrated knowledge of state and federal water quality regulations.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Must be able to work in an industrial environment.
Computer knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and environmental data management software preferred.
Experience with Enablon EHS Management Software preferred
