**Weekly Hours:** 40 **Role Number:** 200668514-0836 **Summary** Imagine what you could do here. At Apple, great ideas have a way of becoming great products, services, and customer experiences very quickly. Bring passion and dedication to your job and there's no telling what you could accomplish. The people here at Apple don't just create products — they create the kind of wonder that's revolutionized entire industries. It's the diversity of those people and their ideas that inspires the innovation that runs through everything we do, from amazing technology to industry-leading environmental efforts. Join Apple, and help us leave the world better than we found it. Apple is seeking a deeply technical expert in climate and environmental standards, someone who doesn't just track the frameworks that define global best practice, but helps refine them. The ideal candidate brings the subject matter expertise to hold their own in a room of scientists and policymakers, and the communication precision to represent Apple's positions with clarity and credibility. **Description** Apple's Environment & Supply Chain Innovation team is seeking an Environmental Standards Expert to represent Apple directly in the development and revision of leading climate standards — participating in ISO and IEC technical committees, as well as other industry-led efforts as they emerge. The person in this seat will develop technically grounded positions on contested methodological questions, advocate for scientifically rigorous and implementable approaches, and translate external developments into actionable internal guidance. The primary focus is climate — GHG accounting, science-based target-setting, and net zero frameworks — with potential expansion to circularity and water. The role collaborates across Environmental Technologies, Facilities, Operations, Government Affairs, Finance, and Legal teams, and requires domestic and international travel to attend working group meetings. **Minimum Qualifications** + BS/BA in environmental science, climate science, engineering, chemistry, economics, or a related technical field + 7+ years of experience in climate or environmental roles with demonstrated technical depth in GHG accounting or science-based climate frameworks + Direct familiarity with the GHG Protocol, SBTi frameworks, and/or ISO 14000-series standards + Familiarity with climate disclosure regulations and frameworks (e.g., TCFD, SEC climate rules, CSRD) and their relationship to voluntary standards + Experience participating in or closely tracking formal standards development processes — whether through ISO/IEC technical committees, industry coalitions, or NGO-led initiatives + Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; able to represent technical positions clearly and persuasively in multi-stakeholder settings **Preferred Qualifications** + Proven track record influencing standards, frameworks, or methodologies in a multi-stakeholder environment + Experience with circularity, water, or other environmental topic areas as a secondary domain + Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in ambiguous, long-horizon processes with many competing stakeholders + Systems thinker who can identify key leverage points within complex methodological and policy landscapes + Self-organized and self-directed — able to independently manage participation across multiple concurrent standards processes with different timelines and deliverables + Comfortable forming and defending well-reasoned positions with incomplete information + High integrity, sharp attention to detail, and genuine passion for Apple's environmental mission + Advanced degree a plus + Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required by working group schedules (~10–25%)
