Job Details

An Environmental Services (EVS) Manager in a long-term care (LTC) facility oversees the housekeeping, laundry, and floor care operations. They ensure the facility remains spotless, sanitary, and compliant with strict state and federal healthcare regulations to protect vulnerable residents from infection.

Navigating the responsibilities, staffing, and compliance demands of a long-term care facility requires a disciplined, resident-centric approach. Here is how the role breaks down:

Core Responsibilities

  • Infection Control: Implementing rigorous cleaning and disinfecting protocols for resident rooms, common spaces, and dining areas to prevent outbreaks.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring the facility passes inspections by state and federal health departments, including regulations specific to skilled nursing facilities.
  • Laundry Services: Managing the collection, washing, drying, and returning of resident linens and personal clothing.
  • Budgeting & Supplies: Ordering chemicals, equipment, and managing the department budget.
  • Staffing & Training: Working with Talent Acquisition to recruit, interview and hire new staff. Also train new hires.
  • Inspections: Conducting daily or weekly walk-throughs to ensure the physical environment is safe, odor-free, and well-maintained.
  • Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Working closely with the Director of Nursing (DON) and the facility Administrator to address resident needs and accommodate facility-wide initiatives.

Salary Range

USD $71,604.00 - USD $87,828.00 /Yr.

This range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience. The salary range or rate listed does not include any bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.
