Responsibilities

  • Perform environmental fieldwork at a brownfield site, including soil sampling, stockpile sampling, and other site investigation activities.
  • Monitor and document any ground-intrusive activities to ensure they follow environmental and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct discharge monitoring from permitted outfalls and support operation of dewatering and treatment systems as needed.
  • Maintain detailed field logs, records, and documentation to support strong QA/QC control for all environmental activities.
  • Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow OSHA safety standards while working on site.
  • Support construction and general labor tasks related to environmental field activities, including setup and maintenance of sampling and monitoring equipment.
  • Collaborate with environmental professionals, field staff, and construction teams to ensure proper execution of work plans.

  • Ability to perform general labor tasks in an outdoor field environment for extended periods.
  • Comfort working at a targeted site near Sparrows Point for up to 12 hours per day, 6 to 7 days per week.
  • Current OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification or OSHA 10 certification.

  • Strong observational skills and attention to detail when documenting field activities and site conditions.

You will work around stockpiles, dewatering and treatment systems, and permitted outfalls, using field equipment for soil sampling and discharge monitoring. The position involves extended shifts of up to 12 hours per day and may require working 6 or potentially 7 days per week, depending on project demands. The environment requires strict adherence to safety protocols, including consistent use of PPE and compliance with OSHA 40 or OSHA 10 standards.
