Join our team to work on projects related to landfill gas collection and control systems. In this role, you will monitor and maintain gas extraction systems to ensure compliance with environmental regulations, preventing the release of harmful gases into the atmosphere.

Responsibilities

• Identify and locate gas leaks in pipelines and systems to ensure safety and system integrity.
• Monitor landfill gas collection systems to prevent the release of harmful gases.
• Conduct regular maintenance and calibration of equipment like the GEM 5000 and Envision Analyzer Meter.
• Perform data entry and utilize meter reading software for environmental testing and data collection.
• Conduct pressure tests on gas systems to check for leaks and ensure proper functioning.
• Analyze gas concentrations using gas analyzers.
• Repair and maintain gas valves to ensure they operate correctly.
• Adhere to safety regulations and protocols to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.
• Utilize SCADA systems for monitoring and controlling gas systems.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in identifying and locating gas leaks.
• Knowledge of HVAC systems, particularly those involving gas furnaces, boilers, and water heaters.
• Experience in pipeline maintenance and repair.
• Understanding of safety compliance and regulations.
• Ability to conduct pressure tests and perform gas analysis.
• Proficiency in repairing and maintaining gas valves.
• Familiarity with SCADA systems.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with methane and landfill gas systems.
• Familiarity with the GEM 500 and landfill equipment.
• Skills in data entry and environmental engineering.

Work Environment

You will work outside 50-60% of the time, often in teams of two. At the end of the day, you"ll be responsible for entering and uploading data. You will be part of a team of 8 technicians. This is a Contract position based out of Long Beach, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
