Environmental Test Technician

We"re Hiring for an Environmental Technician!

Environmental Technician opening with an environmental consulting firm in Crown Point, IN. Entry-level position with comprehensive training and opportunity for advancement to Test Engineer I role ($26.00/hour) within 6-to-12 months. Field-based role - candidates must be comfortable working outdoors and able to travel when scheduled for non-local projects.

Responsibilities:

• Perform air emissions testing and monitoring services at a variety of client industrial facilities.
• Transport and set up testing equipment using a company vehicle; dismantle equipment post-testing.
• Record and analyze data, collect samples.
• Calibrate testing equipment and assist engineers in conducting air quality testing procedures.
• Adhere to environmental, health, and safety protocols.
• Organize and load testing equipment into vehicles for upcoming assignments.
• Maintain and clean testing equipment.
• Gain proficiency in EPA Test Methods 1-5 using company resources.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor"s Degree in Environmental Science, Geology, or related field is preferred.
• Previous experience working in a field-based role.
• Team player with strong initiative and communication skills
• Able to travel
• Comfortable working at heights and lifting up to 75 lbs.

Additional Information:

• Career Path: Test Technician - Test Engineer I/II - AET Team Lead - Project Manager - Sr. Project Manager.
• Company vehicle provided for travel. All travel time, expenses, lodging + additional $72 per diem are paid by company.
• Typical travel projects require 2-to-4 days out of town during the standard work week.
• Frequent overtime required when traveling, paid at 1.5x rate.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Crown Point, IN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.50 - $22.50/hr.
