EO/IR Systems Test Engineer

Job Summary (List Format) for EO/IR Systems Test Engineer at Teledyne FLIR Defense:

- Lead and conduct testing of VIS/SWIR/MWIR/LWIR imaging sensors, payloads, and full EO/IR gimbal systems in laboratory and field environments.
- Perform optical design and tolerance analysis using ZEMAX software.
- Execute radiometric analysis, troubleshooting, and performance verification of EO/IR image sensors and systems.
- Develop and implement design verification test (DVT) plans and test procedures.
- Analyze test data and prepare detailed test reports.
- Support the development of specifications and requirements for optical components, imaging subsystems, and full optical systems.
- Create and review flow-down specifications for lower-tier optical components and subsystems.
- Contribute to new product introduction (NPI) and design for manufacturability (DFM) processes.
- Communicate work progress and findings to functional managers and project leads.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams throughout the product development lifecycle (conceptual to low-rate initial production).
- Maintain and track compliance matrices for specifications and requirements, and support risk identification and mitigation efforts.
- Utilize strong hands-on experience in EO/IR system characterization, optical lens/prism/filter design, and optical design tools.
- Demonstrate excellent communication, teamwork, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to obtain security clearance if required.
