Potential openings for part-time instructors in the McNair Scholars Program Graduate Record Exam Preparation Seminar and Graduate Research Writing Seminar for the GRE seminars one instructor is needed to teach the Verbal section and another instructor is needed to teach the Quantitative section. An instructor is also needed to teach our Graduate Research Writing Seminar.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. To develop a syllabus for the course
  2. To provide lectures and facilitate discussions on a regular basis
  3. To give assignments and provide grades if necessary
  4. To meet with students in groups and one-on-one to provide consultation on course content
  5. Perform other duties and responsibilities as required assigned or requested.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Masters degree in English, Mathematics, or other relevant field
  • At least two years in teaching a writing-intensive course or a mathematics intensive course

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Working with students from low-income, first generation, and/or underrepresented populations as well as students with disabilities.
