The Machine Operator is responsible for overseeing the packer units to ensure a continuous and
efficient production flow. This role focuses on the consistent replenishment of cartons and flats,
monitoring equipment for malfunctions, and performing necessary changeovers to minimize
downtime.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Production Monitoring: Watch for equipment jams and resolve them immediately to
keep the line moving. Monitor carton and flat supplies constantly.
Operational Transitions: Perform machine changeovers when switching from cartons to
flats. Update dates on machinery as required.
Communication: Keep the Line Leader informed of material needs and inventory levels.
Inventory & Documentation: Take accurate counts based on remaining orders. Perform
computer-based tabulations and tasks as needed.
Maintenance & Safety: Maintain a clean floor area and clean up tracking. Be prepared
to crawl under units for cleaning and maintenance.
Flexibility: Execute any and all additional duties assigned by the Supervisor to support
production goals.
Qualifications & Skills
Multitasking: Proven ability to monitor multiple processes and mechanical units
simultaneously.
Autonomy: Ability to operate a grader with minimal supervision.
Technical Literacy: * Basic computer skills for data entry and tabulations.
o Familiarity with Jet Printers, dates, and 8200 terminals.
Communication: Strong verbal communication skills
Math: Proficiency in basic mathematical calculations.
Industry Knowledge: Ability to read and interpret order sheets; general familiarity with
the product is preferred.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
Physical Agility: Must move quickly and safely between packer units. Requires the
ability to bend, reach above shoulder level repeatedly, and crawl under machinery.
Stamina: Ability to stand for 2–3 hours at a time and lift 20–25 pounds consistently
throughout the shift.

Environment: High-activity production setting with cement floors and loud machinery.
PPE: Use of a hairnet is strictly required.
