Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Epic Application Analyst 1 (Principal Trainer for HIM/Identity) who is proactive, self-directed, and passionate about adult education. This individual will partner with operational and technical stakeholders to design and deliver training solutions, communicate effectively with diverse audiences, and transform complex system workflows into clear, learner-focused educational experiences.
The ideal candidate is an experienced Epic Application Analyst 1 (Principal Trainer for HIM/Identity) who combines strong application knowledge with a passion for adult learning. This individual is proactive, takes initiative, and independently seeks information and solutions. They build strong, strategic relationships with operational and technical teams, communicate effectively with all audiences, and translate complex workflows into clear, engaging training that drives learner adoption and performance.
Essential Functions of the Role
Key Success Factors
3+ years of healthcare, Epic, training, or application support experience.
Experience developing, maintaining, and delivering Epic training programs in collaboration with operational leaders, application analysts, and subject matter experts.
Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.
Experience supporting testing, upgrades, and change management activities associated with Epic implementations and enhancements.
Epic HIM Certification.
Epic Identity Certification.
2+ years of experience serving as an Epic Principal Trainer.
Experience supporting training for large healthcare organizations.
Experience creating adult learning materials, including curricula, lesson plans, tip sheets, job aids, eLearning, and classroom exercises.
Knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional design best practices.
Experience facilitating instructor-led, virtual, and one-on-one training sessions.
Experience with curriculum development tools such as uPerform, Captivate, Storyline, or similar platforms.
Experience working in an Agile environment.
Familiarity with patient identity management, duplicate record resolution, merge/unmerge workflows, CDI workflows, and HIM operations.
Ability to work well in team environments.
Self-motivated person who can identify and resolve issues, and advance personal knowledge.
Ability to execute complex tasks through organization and details motivated approach.
Demonstrated excellent mutual communication skills, among facility customers and team members.
A quick learner of software and information technology, and motivated to learn new applications.
Epic application knowledge to build MST.
