The Optum EHR services team is building an innovative, comprehensive Epic services capability using the collective expertise of our clinical, consulting, delivery, technology and operations teams. For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week.You'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.Primary ResponsibilitiesProvide Epic product function, design, build, and testing expertise and experience for assigned Epic module related to EpicCare InpatientCollaborate with end users to design and build the Epic system promptly and professionally, making corrective configuration or enhancementsLead small to medium complexity Epic software upgrade initiatives or enhancements to workflows including the design, build, and test phasesParticipate in design and validation sessions and ensure appropriate documentation, follow‑up and issue escalation occursProvide technical and/or clinical consultation including application configuration. Review, analyze, and evaluate system needs to develop recommendations for customersDevelop, support and maintain all required system design and build documents and other system documentationPerform daily monitoring of applications in production useActively participate in all phases of the testing lifecycle and perform unit, system and integrated testing tasks and activities for EpicCare oncology workflowsProvide support of application incidents reported through the help desk, including 24/7 on‑call coverage as requiredObtain and maintain in‑depth knowledge of software functionality; acquire and utilize knowledge of operational workflows to be implementedPerform in‑depth analysis of workflows, data collection, report details, and other technical issues associated with Epic softwareWork with trainers to develop and maintain application‑specific training curriculum and materialsTranslate business requirements into functional specifications and manage changes to specifications. Prioritize, coordinate, and implement updates and requested changes to the system; review and test each new release; troubleshoot problems and questions from end usersDevelop solid relationships with end user communities, customers and business partnersRequired QualificationsActive / current Epic certification in Beacon3+ years of healthcare experience2+ years Epic build experienceDirect client healthcare domain knowledge such as provider oncology workflows, therapy and treatment plans, nursing oncology infusion workflows including medication administration and clinical documentationPreferred Qualifications5+ years of direct client experienceExperience in radiation oncology buildProficiency with Excel, PowerPoint and SharePointAbility to demonstrate and have a history of team coordination (informal or formal), cross‑team communication and project management skillsKey CompetenciesExcellent time management, organizational, and prioritization skills and ability to balance multiple prioritiesIn‑depth knowledge of Epic EMR and the full implementation lifecycle of Epic's suite of EMR applicationsTeamwork and collaboration. Consultative and collaborative style with demonstrated ability with cross‑functional teamsDemonstrate the ability to build and maintain solid internal relationships as well as motivate and inspire other team members through solid consultative skillsDemonstrates a solid ability to build partnerships and influence others. Work across team, group and business boundaries to drive commonality and reusability in solution to real‑world problemsDemonstrate solid relationship management skills and ability to handle challenging interpersonal situationsBenefitsPay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. The salary for this role will range from $72,800 to $130,000 annually based on full‑time employment.
