Description:

CTG is seeking a highly skilled Certified Epic HB Charging Analyst to support and optimize hospital charging workflows within the Epic system. This role requires deep Epic expertise and a strong understanding of revenue cycle operations, with a focus on charge capture accuracy, compliance, and end-to-end billing performance.

 

The ideal candidate will partner closely with revenue cycle, clinical, and IT teams to ensure efficient charging processes that support clean claims and maximize reimbursement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support, maintain, and optimize Epic HB Charging workflows, including charge router, charge review work queues, and charge edits
  • Act as a subject matter expert for charge capture and charging processes within the hospital billing lifecycle
  • Configure and maintain Epic charging-related build, including rules, edits, work queues, and automation tools
  • Collaborate with revenue cycle and operational leaders to identify gaps in charging processes and implement system and workflow improvements
  • Investigate and resolve charging issues, including missing charges, incorrect charge routing, and claim edit failures
  • Support charge reconciliation processes to ensure completeness and accuracy of billing
  • Participate in system upgrades, testing cycles, and go-lives, including unit testing, integrated testing, and validation of charging workflows
  • Monitor charge-related metrics and KPIs to proactively identify trends and opportunities for improvement
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and organizational billing standards
  • Develop and maintain documentation for charging workflows, build, and support processes

Required Qualifications

  • Epic HB Certification – Required (Charging/Charge Router experience strongly preferred)
  • 4–6+ years of hands-on Epic HB experience, with a focus on charging and charge capture workflows
  • Strong experience supporting hospital revenue cycle operations, including patient accounting, billing, and claim generation
  • Deep understanding of end-to-end revenue cycle processes, especially charge capture, edits, and claim accuracy
  • Proven experience with Epic system build, troubleshooting, and optimization related to charging
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage complex issues independently
  • Excellent communication skills with experience partnering with both technical and operational stakeholders

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $125,000 to $135,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. In addition to salary, a competitive benefit package is also offered.
