Job Summary

The Epic Learning & Content Development Analyst helps Baylor Scott & White Health meet strategic goals. They develop and implement Epic training content using various media. The analyst should have skills in training, instructional design, adult learning methods, Epic system applications, learning management systems, and incident management software. The role involves partnering with teams like IS, Clinical Informatics, and Quality. The analyst assists with testing and recommends corrective actions for Epic software issues. They also work with peers to create online asynchronous training, including lesson plans, content, learning targets, and assessment tools.

Essential Functions of the Role

  • Provide effective Epic Learning application help by responding to help desk tickets and end-user requests (including being on-call help).
  • Effectively provide onsite go-live help, upgrade help and ongoing Epic application help and optimization.
  • Serve as liaison between Epic end users, IS project team members and other IS resources as required.
  • Continuously improve the impact of training for Epic end users with formal and informal training.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of all training materials.
  • Create and execute Epic test scripts for lesson plans and training environment build.
  • Create and execute process maps for Epic functionality workflows.
  • Solve problems by studying business issues/requirements, studying Epic workflows and synthesizing key messages.
  • Develop, implement and deliver customized Epic learning solutions and learning technology solutions throughout BWSH.
  • Select and apply learning aids and materials for Epic training. Ensure they meet business and client needs using adult learning best practices and technologies.
  • Collect assessment and end user feedback data, study with teams to establish effectiveness of learning and development solutions.
  • Apply continuous improvement processes to ensure quality learning and development interventions. Base these on evaluation, feedback, and business needs for Epic.
  • Apply technologies such as e-learning, videos, podcasts, mobile learning and social learning as appropriate for Epic.
  • Assist in developing online courses and evaluation tools for Epic. Ensure they meet LMS parameters and e-learning design standards.
  • Perform other position appropriate duties as required in a competent, professional and courteous manner.
  • Some travel is required.

Key Success Factors

  • Credentialed in Epic applicable application within 1 year from date of hire.
  • Demonstrated customer-oriented service excellence values.
  • Ability to present and conduct training.
  • Ability to work with Epic end users and troubleshoot Epic application issues.
  • Ability and experience in expertise end user Epic workflows.
  • Ability to work well in team environments.
  • Proficient with word processing, spreadsheet and email software applications, LMS, incident management system and e-learning technology.
  • Self-motivated person who can identify and resolve issues and advance personal knowledge.
  • Ability to execute complex tasks through organization and detail-oriented approach.
  • Demonstrated excellent social communication skills, among facility customers and team members.
  • A quick learner of software and information technology and motivated to learn new applications.
  • Epic application knowledge to test, help and train preferred.
  • Functional knowledge of the associated Epic application preferred.
  • Knowledgeable in adult learning techniques.
  • Technical writing skills.
  • Relaxed working in a fast-paced and constantly changing environment.
