Epic Willow Ambulatory Analyst - Pharmacy Applications

Our client, a major academic healthcare organization, is currently seeking an Epic Willow Ambulatory Analyst to join its pharmacy applications team. This person will be responsible for the design, build, implementation, and production support of Epic Willow Ambulatory functionality supporting high-volume retail and outpatient pharmacy operations. This is a one-year contract with the potential to extend. 

Key Responsibilities

• Design, configure, test, implement, and support Epic Willow Ambulatory functionality for retail and outpatient pharmacy workflows.

• Translate operational pharmacy needs into efficient, standardized, and scalable Epic configuration.

• Support the full retail medication lifecycle, including prescription intake, processing, dispensing, charging, inventory visibility, and downstream system impacts.

• Perform routine application maintenance, troubleshoot production incidents, and implement enhancements in a high-volume pharmacy environment.

• Partner with Retail Pharmacy Operations and leadership to identify workflow inefficiencies and recommend practical system improvements.

• Support new pharmacy openings, workflow changes, operational initiatives, and application optimization efforts.

• Serve as a subject-matter resource regarding Willow Ambulatory functionality, workflows, capabilities, and limitations.

• Develop and execute application, integrated, regression, and retail workflow testing for enhancements and upgrades.

• Participate in cutover planning, go-live execution, command-center support, and post-live stabilization.

• Validate system functionality in production-like scenarios that reflect real-world pharmacy volume and turnaround-time requirements.

• Support integrations with third-party retail pharmacy systems, dispensing hardware, point-of-sale technology, and external vendor platforms.

• Partner with interface, infrastructure, revenue cycle, and vendor teams to triage and resolve retail-impacting issues.

• Collaborate with the Willow Inpatient team on shared medication records, enterprise build alignment, upgrades, and cross-application initiatives.

• Provide clear project and support status updates, identify risks, and escalate operational concerns appropriately.

• Create and maintain build documentation, workflow descriptions, test scripts, support materials, and change-control records.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have hands-on Willow Ambulatory configuration experience and a strong understanding of retail pharmacy workflows, including prescription processing, dispensing, charging, inventory, and pharmacy-related integrations. 

• Associate's degree required; bachelor's degree or advanced degree preferred.

• Hands-on experience supporting and configuring Epic Willow Ambulatory in a production environment required.

• Experience with retail or outpatient pharmacy workflows, including prescription processing and dispensing, strongly preferred.

• Experience with pharmacy charging, inventory, claims or adjudication, point-of-sale systems, or retail pharmacy integrations preferred.

• Epic Willow Ambulatory certification or accreditation strongly preferred.

• Willow Inventory, Willow Inpatient, or Willow Specialty Pharmacy certification or experience is a plus.

• Experience with application implementations, upgrades, testing, cutover, go-live, and post-live stabilization.

• Experience troubleshooting production incidents and managing application support tickets within defined service expectations.

• Knowledge of pharmacy automation, dispensing hardware, interfaces, and third-party vendor platforms preferred.

• Strong understanding of cross-application dependencies involving pharmacy operations, revenue cycle, charging, and clinical workflows.

• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, documentation, and workflow-design skills.

• Ability to manage competing priorities independently in a high-volume, production-focused environment.

• Ability to comply with all organizational remote-work and information-security requirements.

Work Arrangement: Fully remote

Contract Length: One year

Pay Rate: $96.00-$101.00 per hour
