    Description

    Primary Duties & Responsibilities

    • Provide sustaining engineering support for SiC epitaxial growth processes and related equipment
    • Troubleshoot process and equipment issues to improve yield, quality, and process stability
    • Monitor and control processes using Statistical Process Control (SPC) and data analysis tools
    • Analyze process data using JMP or similar statistical software to identify trends and drive improvements
    • Lead continuous process improvement initiatives to enhance uniformity, defect reduction, and efficiency
    • Develop and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
    • Support and optimize epi reactors and post-epi characterization/metrology tools
    • Manage multiple projects and priorities in a high-volume manufacturing environment
    • Train and support operators and technicians on process standards and best practices
    • Ensure adherence to engineering procedures, safety standards, and cleanroom protocols

    Education & Experience

    • Bachelor's degree in engineering/science with 5 plus years experience in a related field OR Master's degree in engineering/science with 3 plus years experience in a related field.
    • Experience in epitaxy (SiC preferred) and/or semiconductor characterization
    • Background in process engineering, data analysis, and process improvement

    Technical Skills

    • Experience with Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Design of Experiments (DOE)
    • Proficiency with JMP, Minitab, or similar statistical tools
    • Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills
    • Experience with semiconductor manufacturing processes and cleanroom environments
    • Familiarity with databases and process data systems
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

    Additional Requirements:

    • Ability to work in a cleanroom environment and support 24/7 manufacturing operations
    • Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills
    • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Due to ITAR compliance, this position requires candidates to be a U.S. Citizen, Permanent Resident Alien, or Protected Individual per 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)

    Working Conditions

    • 100% on-site in a semiconductor manufacturing facility

    Physical Requirements

    • Ability to perform hands-on work in a manufacturing and cleanroom environment
    • Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods
    • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods within the facility
    • Ability to lift and move materials up to 40 lbs as needed

    Safety Requirements

    All employees are required to follow the site EHS procedures and Coherent Corp. Corporate EHS standards.
