An leading automotive finance company, located in Irvine, CA, is seeking a Finance Lead for a 12+ month contract role. Role Overview The Project Finance Lead will serve as the single point of accountability for all financial aspects of a large-scale Data Center project. This role owns budget governance, forecasting, capitalization, reporting, and financial controls across the full project lifecycle. The individual will partner closely with EPMO, IT Infrastructure, Accounting, and Corporate Finance to ensure accurate tracking, disciplined financial management, and executive level financial transparency. This is a high-visibility role requiring strong technical accounting knowledge, advanced analytical skills, and the ability to translate complex financial data into clear, decision ready insights. ________________________________________ Key Responsibilities * Own end to end financial governance for the Data Center program; act as the financial gatekeeper for all project spend. * Manage and monitor the program budget on both cash and accrual bases, including CapEx, OpEx, and prepaid expenses. * Lead month end close activities, including accruals, capitalization determination, and prepaid expense tracking. * Partner with Accounting to ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies and audit requirements. * Develop and maintain executive level dashboards and detailed financial reporting (budget vs. actuals, forecasts, variances). * Lead recurring financial review meetings with Finance, IT, and project leadership. * Perform ad hoc financial analysis, scenario modeling, and variance investigations. * Identify financial risks, trends, and control gaps; recommend corrective actions. * Leverage Excel and Oracle to build scalable, accurate reporting and tracking tools. ________________________________________ Required Qualifications * Strong experience in financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting, preferably in capital intensive environments. * Solid understanding of accounting treatment of project costs (CapEx vs. OpEx, accruals, prepaid expenses). * Prior experience in a finance or accounting role with hands on ownership of reporting and analysis. * Advanced Excel skills; strong proficiency in PowerPoint and SharePoint. * Working knowledge of Oracle Financials or comparable ERP systems. * Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and communicate clearly with senior stakeholders. ________________________________________ Preferred Experience * Large scale IT infrastructure or data center projects * EPMO or enterprise program governance environments * Executive level reporting and audit ready financial processes
