About You

You'll get to know the family and care for the horse year after year. From delivering reliable care, to preventative visits, to being the first one they call when something just feels wrong.

Pilchuck Veterinary Hospital

The ideal candidate would be someone who also has an ambitious interest in all aspects of equine medicine and is willing to put in the effort that is required to establish a clientele in the competitive equine market. We require a professional, dedicated candidate who is dependable, has exceptional time management and communication skills, plays well with others, and has a positive attitude.

Duties include approximately 85% Equine (focus on preventative and geriatric care) and 15% small ruminants and camelids. Work will include farm calls, haul-in facility appointments. Ambulatory emergency coverage on a shared rotation basis.

Experience & Skills Requirements

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM / VMD) or equivalent degree required.
  • State Veterinary Board License and must be in good standing for the state in which they intend to be hired, prior to their start date.
  • Active DEA license or DEA licensure eligible.

Pilchuck Veterinary Hospital is looking for an Associate Equine Veterinarian to join our team as part of the Thrive Pet Healthcare community.

About Our Hospital

Pilchuck Veterinary Hospital is a progressive , multi-species practice located in Snohomish, Washington, providing high-quality, dedicated care for every patient. Our hospital has a collaborative team and is committed to a positive work environment. We pride ourselves on compassionate care and high standards of medical excellence. Our hospital sees approximately 85% Equine (with a focus on preventive and geriatric care) and 15% small ruminants and camelids. Work will include farm calls and appointments at the haul-in facility. Ambulatory emergency coverage on a shared rotation basis.

We have a stable, educated support staff, 23-acre facility, 4 Digital X-Ray, 1.5m, and 3.3m endoscopy, 2 portable ultrasound units, MRI, shockwave, a reference-quality in-house lab, and a fully staffed equine referral hospital, consisting of 24 hr nursing care and 2 surgical suites.

Snohomish, WA offers the best of both worlds, 30 minutes from Seattle yet the practice is located in a growing rural setting. Recreational opportunities abound - you can ski in the morning, hike in the afternoon, and enjoy extensive opportunities on the Puget Sound.

We are open Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm

Compensation is negotiable based on credentials and experience with an annual PROSAL full-time range starting at $100,000/year. The actual salary offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
