Overview

POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for cleaning, disinfection, inspection, distribution, retrieval, and inventory management of assigned mobile medical equipment. Ensures equipment is safe, clean, available for patient use, and maintained at established par levels throughout the hospital and FSEDs while supporting Clinical Engineering operations.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education · High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Licensure/Certification/Registration · n/a · Special Skills/Qualifications/Additional Training/Experience Required
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
  • Prior hospital experience with medical equipment handling, Central Supply or Sterile Processing, Environmental Services, or Supply Chain preferred.
  • One year of work experience, including one or more of the following: inventory, stocking, materials handling, hospital and/or health related skills.
  • Good communication skills and attention to detail · Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in operation of a computer.

Responsibilities

JOB RESPONSIBLITIES

  • Organizes work for shift based on customer needs and available equipment.
  • Maintains a computerized profile of departmentally monitored minor bedside equipment owned or located at UF Health Central Florida and assists with inventory activities
  • Tracks equipment locations utilizing computerized asset management systems
  • Responds to urgent clinical equipment requests · Reports damaged, missing, or malfunctioning equipment and unusual operating conditions
  • Distributes, Retrieves, and Monitors all equipment assigned to the EDC department with speed and accuracy.
  • Contributes to the education and safe use of equipment · Assists in the Quality Improvement of the department and hospital.
  • Assists with emergency preparedness equipment staging
