    Description

    SUMMARY

The Cell Equipment Team oversees the status of process equipment and related facilities. Equipment Engineers mainly manage the maintenance and operation of automated, laser, metallization, sorter, thermal, vacuum, or wet etching equipment systems within the production facility.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

The general tasks of an Equipment Engineer should include but not be limited to the following:

    1. Process Productivity Improvement

    • Conduct data analysis to define equipment issues and apply appropriate corrective measures.
    • Examine the cause of product damage and quality defects to improve product yield.
    • Improve equipment productivity by reducing cycle time and optimizing preventive maintenance.
    • Reduce downtime from equipment errors and breakdown maintenance.

    2. Equipment Development

    • Develop at the component level to increase productivity and production yield.
    • Improve the control system of equipment to increase process precision.
    • Analyze equipment data, or video recording of equipment process if needed, to create better optimization of automation and components setting.
    • Improve system automation and logics (PLC) to streamline equipment process.

    3. Resource Management

    • Reduce spare parts expenses through maintenance optimization.
    • Develop internal manufacturing technology essential for high-performance production.
    • Manage inventory of maintenance-related consumable goods and parts.
    • Analyze the lifetime of equipment components and develop a method to increase components lifetime.

    4. Project Development

    • Research equipment development trend of state-of-the-art solar cell manufacturing technology.
    • Establish intelligent manufacturing system and automated operating and monitoring system.
    • Set equipment specifications with optimized production conditions and create utility specification that includes raw material usage and hookup description.

    5. On-site Management

    • Establish safeguards through risk assessment of equipment based on environmental, health, and safety standards.
    • Document standard operating procedures of equipment maintenance and operation and conduct necessary training to Technicians.
    • Manage any activities conducted on assigned equipment, such as maintenance, operation, or production testing.

    6. All other duties assigned by management or that require immediate attention by Team members.

    JOB QUALIFICATIONS

    1. Education Background & Experience:

    • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
    • Minimum 3 years of experience in equipment (automation, laser, wet etching, metallization, sorter, thermal, vacuum).

    2. Must have Technical Knowledge:

    • Experience in semiconductor, display manufacturing, or a related industry.
    • Strong understanding of automation, PLC, and robotics.
    • Analysis skills in SQL and MS Office to interpret data and derive conclusions.
