Position Overview
This is a semi-supervisory position requiring independent judgment and providing support for all Athletic areas, Conference Center, McCarthy Theatre, and including all open areas of the campus where events take place. Work involves daily inspection of all facilities, preparation of work orders and work schedules to meet the facilities requirements for all Athletic and Campus Events.
What you will be doing
- Maintains close coordination with staff members, coaches, and Kendall Campus colleagues to insure maximum utilization of facilities
- Maintains equipment used for Athletic fields, Conference Centers and McCarthy Theatre
- Sets up and prepares tables, chairs, stages, podiums and other equipment as needed for events on campus
- Maintains cleanliness of all Athletic fields, including tennis courts, and gymnasium
- Maintains necessary schedules required for part time personnel and student assistants to ensure timely set ups for athletic fields and special events on campus.
- Maintains records reflecting current inventory and supplies
- Conducts periodic and annual inventories and prepares inventory listing of all equipment and supplies
- Conducts in-service training for part time personnel and student assistants to support issuance of equipment, lockers, setting up areas necessary for credit and non-credit classes, and minor repair of equipment Performs other duties as assigned
What you need to succeed
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent from a regionally accredited institution and six (6) months of event set up and additional related experience in the proper care, storage, and maintenance of athletic and event equipment; such as, tables, chairs, stages, and podiums
- All degrees must be from a regionally accredited institution
- Ability to work independently or with little supervision
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organizations
- Ability to maintain effective interpersonal relations with students, faculty and administration
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
- Ability to work in a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural environment with students, faculty and staff

Essential Position

This means that it has job duties that affect the security, safety, or physical operation of the College, and are required to work at the Emergency Operations Center and/or have access to the incident scene once normal campus operations have been suspended.
