Job Summary:

The Equipment Maintenance Technician performs maintenance and repair operations necessary to keep plant, equipment, machinery, and tools in good operating Condition. This position is a multi-craft maintenance position with heavy focus on the mechanical skill set. 

Physical Requirements: Stand or Sit(Stationary position), Walk(Move, Traverse), Use hand/fingers to handle or feel (Operate, Activate, Use, Prepare, Inspect, Place, Detect, Position), Climb (stairs/ladders) or balance (Ascend/Descend, Work atop, Traverse), Stoop, kneel, crouch, or Crawl(Position self(to), Move), Talk/hear(Communicate, Detect, Converse with, Discern, Convey, Express oneself, Exchange information), See (Detect, Determine, Perceive, Identify, Recognize, Judge, Observe, Inspect, Estimate, Assess), Pushing or Pulling, Reaching, Repetitive Motion Function in the Job: Medium/Heavy work - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Job Function:
  • Responsible for a wide range of duties from mechanical to electrical depending on needs. 
  • Schedules periodic and required maintenance/repairs on all property and equipment. 
  • Maintains and performs facility repairs. 
  • Inspects, repairs, installs, modify, and maintains 3 phase electrical systems, circuits, and various other types of mechanical/electrical and related equipment. 
  • Welding, Torch Cutting, and Fabricating when needed. 
  • Sets and maintains preventive maintenance schedule on equipment 
  • Ability to diagnose motor and drive failures. 
  • Maintain and repair horizontal steel-cutting band saws. 
  • Install any industrial equipment. 
  • Prepare and maintain all work orders, relating to preventative and routine maintenance of equipment, machinery, company property, and building repairs. 
  • Consistently adheres to all safety practices and procedures. 
Required Skills:

High school diploma or Technical School Degree with appropriate mechanical and industrial electrical skills preferred; stick welding certification a plus 

Experience as a Maintenance Technician preferred   

2-5 years of responsible experience in building and mechanical equipment maintenance and repair or equivalent combination of education and experience 

Experience or ability to learn through on the job training both flat and vertical welding 

Basic electrical knowledge regarding low voltage controls and motors up to and including 480 amp 3 phase.   Knowledge and ability to understand, wear and care for required PPE when working in electrically hazardous environments 

Basic mechanical knowledge and experience with gas and diesel motors 

Knowledge of OSHA regulations 

Gear box rebuild, Hydraulic and pneumatic, overhead crane experience required 

Compensation Range: The anticipated compensation for this position is USD $25.00/Hr. - USD $28.00/Hr. depending on experience, qualifications, and location.
