Purpose of Class
Operates a variety of heavy equipment to perform entry level maintenance and service work on County property; performs related work as required.
Primary Function
The primary function of an employee in this class is to perform skilled maintenance and construction work on County property. The Equipment Operator is proficient in operating a variety of heavy equipment. The work is performed under the direct supervision of the Operations Manager and Assistant Operations Manager. The principal duties of this class are performed in an outdoor environment and may include working in adverse weather conditions and hazards involving the use of heavy equipment and power tools.
