The City of West Allis is hiring a 3rd Shift Equipment Operator to keep our city moving overnight!

What You'll Do
Operate a variety of equipment and machinery, including:
Trucks and tandem vehicles
Large rubber-tired end loaders
Street sweepers
Snow blowers for front-end loaders
Dickey-John salt spreading systems
Refuse and recycling packers
Assist with snow removal operations, including applying salt and sand.
Perform routine manual labor related to equipment operation, construction, maintenance, and service activities.
Maintain accurate work records and compile related reports.
Work in various weather conditions, including temperature extremes, odors, noise, and dust.

What You'll Bring
Physical Job Demands:
Possess the physical capacity to perform the duties of the position including, but not limited to, the ability to continuously stand, walk, bend, kneel, sit, climb, twist, stoop, crawl, stretch, squat, lift, reach, push, pull, enter and exit City truck and equipment, etc.
Possess the physical capacity to perform light to heavy manual labor for extended periods of time (physical requirements are dependent upon work assigned) including but not limited to, the duties generalized listed below:
Ability to withstand exposure to variable and unfavorable weather and working conditions including but not limited to temperature variations and extremes, odors, toxic agents, noise, vibrations, electrical current, vehicular traffic and/or dust.

Do you hold a valid Wisconsin Commercial Drivers License - Class B,C,D with air brakes?

Do you have 2-3 years of experience operating a Front End Loader?

Do you have an acceptable driving record per City Policy (no more than two moving violations in the last 18 months and no more than three moving violations within the last 36 months; no more than one chargeable accident within the last 18 months and no more than two chargeable accidents within the past 36 months; no more than six (6) demerit points within the past 12 months; no driving under the influence (Wis. Stat. 346.63) or reckless driving (Wis. Stat. 346.62) convictions within the past five years)?

Do you possess a CDL Tanker (N) Endorsement?

If you do not possess a valid Wisconsin CDL Tanker (N) endorsement, are you agreeable to obtaining such within 12 months of appointment?
