To comply with all training provided to enable employees to perform operations required in accordance with Kinder Morgan work instructions and government regulations (EPA, FRA and OSHA).
Responsibilities:
- Operate terminal equipment to include, but not limited to, cranes, bulldozer, front end loader, fork truck, conveyors.
- Load and unload cargo from ships, railcar and trucks
- Perform daily maintenance checks on assigned equipment
- Participate in company training and safety programs
- Perform general labor duties
- This position requires donning ½ mask respirator, employees must pass a respiratory fit test and screening as a condition of employment.
Qualifications:
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent
Required Qualifications:
- Experience operating heavy equipment, including cranes, bulldozers, front end loaders, fork trucks and conveyors
- Must be able to understand and comply with all requirements for any emergency
- Must be able to understand and comply with oral and written instructions, in English
- Must be able to take direction / supervision and work cooperatively with other people
Working Conditions:
- Must be able to routinely climb ladders and work at heights of up to 80' and down ladders up to 50' in the holds of ships
- Must be able to lift / carry up to 50#
- Must be able to sweep, shovel, use hand tools
- Must be able to wear Kinder Morgan supplied Personal Protective Equipment, when applicable
- Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms and talk or hear
- Frequently required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
- Must be willing and able to work all shifts, including extended hours / days / weekends/ holidays as needed
- Will be subject to working in varying and extreme weather conditions
- Must be willing to join Teamsters Local 377
- Must be able to work under pressure to meet deadlines
