ROLE OVERVIEW
This position is responsible to operate straight or articulated rubber-tired tractor type vehicles equipped with front mounted hydraulically powered bucket or scoop to lift and transport bulk materials to and from storage or processing areas to load trucks or feed conveyors, hoppers, or chutes.
The typical schedule is Monday - Friday 7:00 AM - 6:00 PM during production season with Saturday as needed. Typical schedule during maintenance season is Monday - Thursday 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM. The schedule may vary due to weather and customer demand.
DUTIES AND/OR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Starts engine, shifts gears, presses pedals, and turns steering wheel to operate.
- Moves levers to lower and tilt bucket and drives front end loader forward to force bucket into material piles.
- Moves levers to raise and tilt bucket when filled, drives vehicle to work site, and moves levers to dump material.
- Becomes familiar with digging plans, machine capabilities and limitations, and with efficient and safe digging procedures in a given application.
- Moves materials over short distances.
- Backfills excavations.
- Loads trucks and rail cars.
- Measures and weighs materials.
- Creates and maintains inclines and ramps and handle slides, mud, and pit cleanings and maintenance.
- Inspects material moving equipment and performs routine maintenance such as lubricating, adjusting, and repairing machinery, replacing parts such as gears, bearings, and cutting edges, fueling, and cleaning.
- Uses power or hand tools.
- Assists in plant maintenance as directed.
- Performs safety inspections in and around sand plant.
- Must be able to work overtime during busy season.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- High school education and six months experience operating large scale equipment or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ensure OSHA, DOT, EPA, DNR, MSHA, Federal, State, and Local safety and environmental regulation compliance including attending training.
