This is a hands-on position located at a working railroad facility where safety, teamwork, and reliability are essential every day.If you have experience operating heavy equipment, construction equipment, forklifts, loaders, industrial machinery, or material-handling equipment, your background may transfer well to this position. Previous railroad experience is helpful but not required. We are interested in candidates who are comfortable working around large equipment, following detailed safety procedures, and learning the railroad industry.This is not a climate-controlled warehouse position. Work is performed primarily in an active industrial and railroad environment, including outdoor conditions throughout the year.What You'll DoAs an Equipment Operator, you will support the mechanical operation by safely operating equipment and assisting with the movement of materials, parts, tools, and other items needed by the facility.Responsibilities may include:Safely operate assigned heavy equipment and material-handling equipmentMove, load, unload, and position materials and equipment throughout the facilityPerform daily pre-use inspections and identify potential equipment concernsSupport mechanical and railroad operations as directed by site leadershipMaintain organized and safe work areasFollow established procedures when working around railcars, tracks, vehicles, and moving equipmentUse proper PPE and comply with company, customer, and railroad safety requirementsAssist with general labor and other operational duties when equipment operation is not requiredReport unsafe conditions, equipment damage, or maintenance concerns immediatelyMaintain dependable attendance and arrive prepared for scheduled shiftsWhat We're Looking ForSuccessful candidates should be comfortable working in a physical, safety-sensitive industrial environment.
