Equipment Operator


Waste Connections is looking for a safety-conscious Equipment Operator to join our team. The Equipment Operator is responsible for operating heavy equipment in a safe and efficient manner to support daily landfill, transfer station, or site operations. This position plays a critical role in maintaining site productivity while ensuring compliance with company safety and environmental standards.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities


+ Operate heavy equipment such as dozers, compactors, loaders, excavators, haul trucks, and other site equipment.

+ Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of assigned equipment.

+ Maintain proper operation of equipment to maximize productivity and efficiency.

+ Assist with site maintenance, grading, earthmoving, and material handling activities.

+ Identify and report equipment malfunctions, safety hazards, and maintenance needs.

+ Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and environmental regulations.

+ Work closely with supervisors and team members to complete daily operational goals.

+ Maintain a clean and organized work environment.

+ Perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications


+ High school diploma or GED preferred.

+ Previous experience operating heavy equipment preferred.

+ Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

+ Strong commitment to safety and safe work practices.

+ Ability to communicate effectively and work as part of a team.

+ Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical labor as needed.

+ Reliable attendance and punctuality.
