    This posting will be used to fill positions at Pensacola Beach or Roads

    This class drives and operates general equipment as assigned daily.

    This is a "mandatory-testing" position that requires Drug Testing.

    EXAMPLE OF DUTIES

    Operating various light to medium motorized vehicles, such as a small front-end loader, skid loader, farm tractor, bush hog, boom axe, backhoe, etc., in the accomplishment of assigned tasks

    Operates a variety of lawn care tools and equipment including, but not limited to, zero turn mower, weed-eater, trimmers, edger, pole saw, and hand tools (e.g. rakes, shovels, etc.)

    Performs strenuous manual labor, frequently using hand or small power tools

    Performs minor/preventive maintenance on and safety checks of assigned vehicle or equipment

    May load/unload truck by hand or by using a forklift or small loader

    May operate an All Terrain Vehicle (ATV)

    Prepares and maintains logs and records of daily activities

    Performs other duties of a similar nature and level

    TYPICAL QUALIFICATION

    Minimum Qualifications:

    Training and Experience:

    High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)

    Licenses and Certifications:

    Must possess a valid driver's license from state of residence

    Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Characteristics (KSAO's):

    applicable tools and equipment

    basic arithmetic

    general maintenance principles, methods, and techniques

    occupational hazards and safety precautions

    performing general labor and maintenance tasks in assigned area

    operating applicable tools, equipment, and machinery

    preparing and maintaining basic records

    communications and interpersonal skills as applied to the interaction with co-workers, supervisor, members of the general public, etc, sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction

    SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION

    County-wide Employee Responsibilities:

    Emergency Management Responsibilities:

    During emergency conditions, the incumbent of this position will automatically be considered an emergency service worker. This employee is subject to being called to work in the event of a disaster, such as a hurricane, or other emergency situation and is expected to perform emergency service duties as assigned.

    Physical Requirements:

    Positions of this class typically require climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing, finger and hand dexterity as well as repetitive motions.

    Very heavy work: Exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or in excess of 50 pounds frequently, and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects; may be subjected to moving mechanical parts, electrical currents, vibration, fumes, odors, dust, poor ventilation, chemicals, oils, extreme temperatures, inadequate lighting, space restrictions and intense noise.
