The Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF) Northern Region Maintenance & Operations is looking for an Equipment Operator Journey 2 to help us Keep Alaska Moving!

 

 

What you will be doing:

Are you ready to make a real impact on the upkeep of our highways and airports? As a valued member of our maintenance team, you'll dive into a variety of exciting tasks that ensure our infrastructure remains in top shape throughout the seasons. In this seasonal role, you'll operate and maintain both heavy and light-duty equipment, handling everything from vegetation management to the upkeep of signs, barricades, fences, bridges, and culverts. You'll also be responsible for maintaining bike paths, road surfaces, and drainage structures—each task essential to our state transportation systems. Additionally, you'll manage traffic control duties, including flagging, to ensure a safe and efficient working environment. Please be aware that this position requires a commitment to shift work, allowing us to keep operations running smoothly around the clock.

The working environment you can expect:

This position is located in Thompson Pass, Alaska. As part of the Thompson Pass Maintenance & Operations team, the selected candidate will perform numerous seasonal highway maintenance and operations tasks within the Valdez District boundaries.
