Description
Performs intermediate skilled trades work transporting and disposing of solid waste, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the limited supervision of the Crew Coordinator.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Thorough knowledge of related industry, organization, and department policies, practices, and procedures; thorough knowledge of related industry, organization, and departmental legal guides, recommendations, best practices, ordinances, and laws; thorough knowledge of industry standard and department specific equipment; general knowledge of standard office and department specific software; skill in use of assigned equipment; ability to perform manual labor for extended periods of time often in adverse conditions; ability to make arithmetic computations using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates and the general public.
Education and Experience
High school diploma or GED and moderate experience in waste collections and landfill operations, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Physical Requirements
This work requires the frequent exertion of up to 10 pounds of force and occasional exertion of up to 100 pounds of force; work regularly requires speaking or hearing, using hands to finger, handle or feel, climbing or balancing, reaching with hands and arms, tasting or smelling, pushing or pulling and repetitive motions, frequently requires walking, sitting and lifting and occasionally requires standing and stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling; work has standard vision requirements; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word and conveying detailed or important instructions to others accurately, loudly or quickly; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels and to receive detailed information through oral communications and/or o make fine distinctions in sound; work requires visual inspection involving small defects and/or small parts, using of measuring devices, assembly of fabrication of parts within arms length, operating machines, operating motor vehicles or equipment and observing general surroundings and activities; work regularly requires working near moving mechanical parts, working in high, precarious places, exposure to fumes or airborne particles, exposure to outdoor weather conditions and exposure to vibration, frequently requires exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals, exposure to the risk of electrical shock and exposure to bloodborne pathogens and may be required to wear specialized personal protective equipment and occasionally require wet, humid conditions (non-weather), exposure to extreme cold (non-weather), exposure to extreme heat (non-weather), working with explosives and wearing a self-contained breathing apparatus; work is generally in a very loud noise locations (e.g. jack hammer work, garbage recycle plant).
