Tradesmen International is immediately hiring experienced Equipment Operators for projects located in and around Midlothian, VA. This is a first shift opportunity with a pay range of up to $23/hour based on experience and skill level. Job Scope:
Operate an excavator to complete foundation and site work.
Review blueprints and grade stakes; coordinate with surveyors to ensure accuracy.
Prepare site by removing topsoil, vegetation, debris, and old structures.
Excavate to specified depth, width, and slope for footings, basements, or slabs.
Maintain precision so excavation meets engineering specifications.
Load trucks with excavated soil for removal or stockpiling.
Separate usable fill from waste material.
Dig trenches for water, sewer, electrical, and drainage lines to code.
Coordinate with carpenters and concrete crews to ensure timely project flow.
Shape sidewalls to prevent cave-ins; bench, slope, or shore as required.
Backfill around walls after concrete cures and rough grade surrounding area.
Maintain safe operation and distance from workers, structures, and utilities.
Requirements:
Must have prior experience in commercial foundation excavation.
Ability to read blueprints and follow grade stakes accurately.
Skilled in excavation precision and safety practices.
