General Information


Job Description: GENERAL
Follows established procedures, safety practices and emergency procedures.
Disassembles, cleans, and reassembles all vessels, pumps, lines and assorted small parts.
Provides Formulation and Coating with equipment that is clean and correctly set up, in a timely manner.
Directly responsible to area supervisor.
Handles all solution returns; determine disposition; save/sewer.
Troubleshoots equipment.
Maintains safe, neat area.
Documents defective equipment.
Definitions Clean - has been cleaned and is free of soil and/or stains
Any piece of equipment on the shelf has been inspected and deemed clean.
Any vessel in the clean marshaling area and with a vessel card is deemed clean, unless identified otherwise.
Dirty - soiled or stained Any piece of equipment NOT on a shelf has not been inspected for cleanliness.
These parts must be treated as dirty. "Clean " parts on a cart MUST be inspected before use.
MISSION STATEMENT
The Equipment Service Area is comprised of Operators committed to the use of teamwork and cGMP Good Manufacturing Practices to clean, assemble, and inspect equipment used in the manufacture of Vitros slides in order to remain the world leader in Health Diagnostics.

III. JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Knowledge Requires some mechanical knowledge.
Must follow all SOP's that pertain to the area.
Requires some computer interface.
Must be able to troubleshoot equipment problems.
Mental Requirements Must be able to prioritize workload.
Must be able to change work priorities without loss of productivity.
Accountability Responsible for providing clean equipment.
Responsible for providing equipment/filtration set-up correctly.
Troubleshoots equipment problems.
Physical Requirements Constant standing and bending.
Some moderate heavy lifting.
Job Conditions Subject to some chemical fumes.
Wet conditions.

IV. TRAINING/CHECKLIST
Training Section Supervisor will assign qualified operator to be trainer.
Trainer Obtain check-list.
Prioritize training schedule.
Keep checklist current, trainer and trainee must initial and date the appropriate SOP, task, block area on the checklist when both feel the trainee is ready to perform the task by his/her self.

If the work-load will not allow for training, the trainee will:
Work alone on the task he/she has signed off.
Work in the small parts sink.
Keep the supervisor informed on the training program.
Checklist (0000007227) The checklist will be maintained by both the trainee and trainer.
Both will initial the appropriate block when the trainee has performed the task to the trainer's satisfaction, can detect out of control situations and has read/understands the appropriate SOP.
When the task is initialed by the trainer and trainee, the trainee can perform that task unsupervised.
Qualification
An Operator is considered QUALIFIED when he/she has read
An Operator is considered QUALIFIED when he/she has read and understands all pertinent SOP's; has performed task successfully under supervision of Trainer and is able to detect out-of-control situations.
At the completion of training, the Supervisor will sign and date Training Checklist and file in Operators training file.
