DESCRIPTION:
As a Equipment Superintendent at Frontier-Kemper, you will have the opportunity to: be responsible for planning, coordinating and directing the operations of all equipment for effective maintenance and repair programs, equipment safety programs and equipment use on the job site. The position works closely with operations on the job to ensure maximum equipment availability is met.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Coordinate equipment needs with the applicable department within FKCI (Equipment dept., Purchasing dept., etc.).
+ Responsible for managing the equipment preventative maintenance programs on site and coordinates execution of these programs with operations.
+ Responsible for organizing and directing work to maintenance personnel on the job site. This includes ensuring that they are provided with the correct tools for the work to be performed.
+ Reports to General Superintendent the status on equipment, works to execute repairs and provide needed availability of the equipment based on General Superintendent’s direction.
+ Responsible for planning and maintaining parts, fastener, oil/lube, and misc. inventory on the job site.
+ Works closely with job site Business Manager to effectively understand and control job site costs as they pertain to equipment usage.
+ Manages jobsite diesel permit which includes gathering necessary information on equipment to be added, adding and removing equipment as necessary and coordinating with the MWDO Equipment Dept. as needed.
+ Communicates job site outside rental equipment needs and coordinates with MWDO Equipment Dept. to execute these needs.
+ Will be coordinating freight back and forth from jobsite to local equipment storage yard.
+ Participate in weekly progress and schedule meetings.
+ Effective communication with vendors.
+ Participate with all departments of FKCI to improve efficiency, quality, and safety.
+ Work overtime as needed.
+ Perform the physical requirements of walking, standing, climbing stairs or ladders, and lifting over 50 lbs.
+ Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
+ High school diploma or equivalent.
+ Degree in Maintenance Management, Project Management, or related, preferred.
+ 15 years related experience minimum.
+ OSHA 10 training is preferred
+ Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
+ Familiar with shop practices including machine work, mechanical repair and steel fabrication.
+ Proficient with equipment operating systems including electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, and pneumatic.
+ Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
+ Familiar with mining related business, preferred.
