Evening - 08 Hour (United States of America)
Every patient interaction depends on the quiet readiness of the equipment behind the scenes. As an Equipment Tech, you play a vital role in keeping care moving safely and seamlessly by ensuring essential patient equipment is clean, available, and ready exactly when clinicians need it most.
In this hands-on role, you support daily hospital operations by cleaning, disinfecting, staging, and distributing patient care equipment across inpatient units, ICUs, the Emergency Department, and other clinical areas at Stanford Health Care's Palo Alto campus. You'll work onsite as an individual contributor, partnering closely with clinical teams to maintain equipment availability, accuracy, and safety while following infection prevention, privacy, and service standards.

Clean, track, store, and distribute patient care equipment to meet daily and fluctuating clinical demand
Maintain organized equipment rooms, pars, and workflows to support efficient hospital operations
Identify non-functional equipment, initiate work orders, and support repair coordination
Use approved systems to document requests, chain of custody, and daily job flows
Communicate professionally with staff, patients, and visitors in a fast-paced healthcare environment
Periodically assist with Specimen transport as needed

A Brief Overview
Under the direction of the Supervisor and/or the Manager of the Patient Transport and Patient Equipment Management Systems (PEMS), the Equipment Tech supports the department by supporting the cleaning, disinfection, pick-up, delivery and staging of patient care equipment across inpatient nursing units, intensive care units (ICU), the Emergency Department (ED), and other areas. This role adheres to Stanford Health Care (SHC) policies, the Joint Commission (TJC), Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), infection-prevention standards, and C-I-CARE to ensure safe operations, patient care delivery and service excellence.

Base Pay Scale: Generally starting at $29.47 - $37.57 per hour
The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training. This pay scale is not a promise of a particular wage.
