Position Type: Contract-to-Hire
Qualified Staffing is seeking a Equipment Technician to support a high-volume manufacturing environment in Cartersville. The Equipment Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving manufacturing equipment to support safe, efficient, and reliable production operations. This role performs preventive, predictive, corrective, and emergency maintenance while working closely with production, engineering, and maintenance teams to minimize downtime, maximize equipment reliability, and ensure product quality.
Successful candidates are mechanically inclined, safety-focused, detail-oriented, and thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Equipment Maintenance & Repair
  • Perform preventive, predictive, corrective, and emergency maintenance on manufacturing equipment.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical equipment issues to quickly restore production.
  • Disassemble, inspect, repair, replace, rebuild, and reassemble equipment and components using hand and power tools.
  • Align, adjust, lubricate, and maintain machinery according to manufacturer specifications and company procedures.
  • Perform routine equipment inspections to identify potential failures before they impact production.
  • Support equipment improvement initiatives to increase reliability and reduce downtime.
Production Support
  • Respond to equipment issues during production to minimize downtime.
  • Work closely with production, engineering, and maintenance teams to maintain efficient operations.
  • Participate in shift pass-down meetings to communicate equipment status, completed work, and outstanding issues.
  • Maintain equipment cleanliness and work areas in accordance with manufacturing standards.
Documentation & Inventory
  • Accurately document maintenance activities, repairs, inspections, and parts usage.
  • Monitor inventory levels of replacement parts, consumables, and maintenance supplies.
  • Assist with identifying required replacement parts and notifying leadership of inventory needs.
  • Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and maintenance documentation requirements.
Safety & Compliance
  • Follow all company Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) policies and procedures.
  • Wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Perform all work in compliance with company safety standards and applicable regulations.
  • Complete other duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications
Required
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Technical training or experience in mechanical, electrical, industrial maintenance, construction, plumbing, or another skilled trade preferred.
  • Experience performing equipment maintenance, repair, or troubleshooting in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to use hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment safely.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and technical documentation.
  • Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and continuous improvement.
Preferred
  • Experience in high-volume manufacturing or automated production environments.
  • Experience with semiconductor, solar, electronics, or other precision manufacturing equipment.
  • Familiarity with automation, PLCs, robotics, or industrial controls.
  • Associate degree or technical diploma in a related field.
  • Cleanroom or chemical handling experience is a plus.
  • Bilingual (Korean and/or Spanish) is beneficial.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, kneel, and perform physical work throughout the shift.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work on ladders, elevated platforms, and in confined spaces as required.
  • Comfortable working in manufacturing environments with heat, noise, moving machinery, and varying environmental conditions.
  • Ability to wear required PPE, including safety glasses, steel-toe footwear, gloves, respirators, cleanroom garments, and fall protection when required.
