    General Description: The Equipment Technician is responsible for ensuring the reliability, performance, and longevity of equipment in the LSR (Liquid Silicone Rubber) injection molding facility. This role involves leading complex repairs, performing advanced troubleshooting, and overseeing preventive maintenance programs for injection molding machines, automation systems, and auxiliary equipment. As a senior member of the team, the Senior Equipment Technician will also mentor junior technicians, collaborate on continuous improvement initiatives, and play a key role in optimizing equipment performance to minimize downtime and enhance production efficiency.

    Essential Job Responsibilities:

    • Advanced Troubleshooting & Repair:
      • Monitor the inventory of critical spare parts and tools, ensuring that the necessary components are available to perform repairs and preventive maintenance.
      • Collaborate with the Maintenance Manager to manage spare parts procurement and maintain an efficient stock level to avoid production delays.
      • Ensure proper organization and storage of spare parts and tools to facilitate quick and efficient maintenance tasks.
    • Spare Parts & Inventory Management:
      • Ensure that all maintenance activities are conducted in compliance with safety policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
      • Perform regular safety checks and audits on equipment and the working environment to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions as needed.
      • Collaborate with the Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) team to ensure that all equipment modifications and repairs meet health and safety standards.
    • Safety & Compliance:
      • Maintain detailed and accurate records of maintenance activities, including repairs, preventive maintenance, part replacements, and equipment performance metrics.
      • Use computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) or ERP systems to track and report on equipment health, downtime, and maintenance history.
      • Provide detailed reports on major equipment failures and propose long-term solutions to prevent recurrence.
    • Documentation & Reporting:
      • Participate in and lead continuous improvement projects aimed at increasing equipment efficiency, reducing downtime, and improving production throughput.
      • Work closely with the Process Engineering and Production teams to identify areas where equipment performance can be enhanced and develop actionable improvement plans.
      • Implement lean manufacturing principles and contribute to root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective action plans to resolve chronic equipment issues.
    • Continuous Improvement & Process Optimization:
      • Lead the installation, setup, and commissioning of new machinery and equipment, ensuring proper integration into the production process.
      • Ensure that all equipment is properly aligned, calibrated, and connected to meet operational and safety standards.
      • Collaborate with the engineering and production teams during equipment upgrades or process changes, providing technical insights to support successful implementation.
    • Installation & Commissioning of Equipment:
      • Mentor and train junior technicians on advanced troubleshooting methods, equipment repair procedures, and best practices for maintenance.
      • Provide technical guidance and leadership to junior team members, ensuring that they develop the skills needed to diagnose and repair equipment issues effectively.
      • Assist in developing training materials and programs to build the technical expertise of the maintenance team.
    • Mentorship & Team Leadership:
      • Oversee the implementation of preventive maintenance schedules, ensuring that all equipment is serviced in accordance with manufacturer recommendations and company protocols.
      • Perform detailed inspections, lubrication, calibration, and testing of equipment components to prevent breakdowns and ensure optimal machine performance.
      • Provide feedback on preventive maintenance tasks and suggest improvements to the Maintenance Manager to enhance reliability and efficiency
    • Preventive Maintenance Leadership:
      • Lead the diagnosis and repair of complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues on LSR injection molding machines and auxiliary equipment.
      • Utilize advanced troubleshooting techniques to resolve critical equipment malfunctions, minimizing downtime and maintaining production continuity.
      • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address recurring equipment problems and develop effective solutions.
    • Additional Job Responsibilities:

      • Lead special projects related to equipment upgrades, automation integration, and process improvements.
      • Collaborate with vendors and external service providers for complex repairs or technical support.
      • Provide input on capital equipment purchases, including specifying new equipment and ensuring that it meets the facility's operational requirements.
