Equipment Technician

Basic Job Functions:

• Perform all necessary maintenance, repair, and upgrade work of the equipment and facility in a timely manner.
• Support developmental tests in lab environment as requested, including sample preparation, fabrication and testing of solar modules.

 Required Skills/Competencies:

• Demonstrated equipment troubleshooting skills at the systems level
• Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, vacuum systems and/or robotics preferred.
• Ability to work independently with no supervision.
• Ability to follow Safe Work Practices. Full understanding of LOTO.
• It is a plus to have the following: ability to learn to operate a variety of processing and test tools for semiconductor device fabrication and measurements or prior experience, experience in wet coating processes such as inkjet printer and spray operation, ability to support atomic layer deposition(ALD).
• Ability to communicate on a regular basis with all levels of employees.
• Ability to follow verbal and/or written instructions/test plans.
• Average to excellent computer skills (Word, Excel).
• Attention to detail, good team player, accountable, go-getter.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Performs the on-site service and repair of equipment per schedule and needs.
• Accomplishes daily assignments as scheduled and as directed.
• Responsible for completing sample tests as requested for development tests.
• Responsible for communicating immediately any abnormal finding on the equipment, product, or environment.
• Consistently demonstrates efficient and effective methods to deliver quality results.
• Responsible for supporting engineering on any improvement project and assisting in any other task or job assigned by supervisor based on business needs. Duties and tasks are frequently non-routine due to the nature of R&D.
• May train others.
• Multiple shift schedules possible. Candidate needs to be willing to work long hours and weekends (as needed) to support any equipment or operational tasks.

Physical Requirements:

• Will sit, stand or walk short distances for up to the entire duration of a shift.
• Will climb stairs on an occasional basis.
• Will lift, push or pull up to 27 pounds on an occasional basis.
• Required to use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry or feel objects on a frequent basis.
• 20/40 vision in each eye, with or without correction, is required.
• Must be able to comply with all safety standards and procedures.
• May reach above shoulder heights and below the waist on a frequent basis.
• May stoop, kneel, or bend, on an occasional basis.
• The ability to wear personal protective equipment is required (including but not limited to; steel toed shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, protective jacket or apron and arm guards).
