Qualifying Questions:

Summary: 

• Investigates and develops equipment and tooling concepts and specifications to satisfy aerospace product design and build requirements.

• Performs tool liaison activities to support tool fabrication and production use.

• Participates in design reviews, collects design requirements, creates and revises drawings and models to support the build plan.

• Creates specifications and purchase requests for acquisition of new equipment and tooling from external vendors.

• Checks designs for compliance with safety, producibility, maintainability, reliability, ergonomic factors and regulatory requirements.

• Develops and documents equipment and tooling inspection and usage instructions, preventative maintenance plans, and supports user training development.

• Manages budgets and schedules to deliver equipment and tooling solutions to customers.

• Applies pressure vessel codes such as ASME Section VIII and related ASME or ANSI codes.

• Applies piping codes such as ASME B31.1 or B31.3.

• Applies thermodynamics and fluid mechanics principles.

Requirements:

• Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent directly related to work statement.

• 3 or more years of related work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Preferred: 3+ years of hands-on experience as a Pressure Vessel Design Engineer.

• Preferred: Working knowledge and application of pressure vessel codes such as ASME Section VIII and related ASME or ANSI codes.

• Preferred: Knowledge and application of NBIC codes Part 1, 2, 3, and 4.

• Preferred: Application of piping codes such as ASME B31.1 or B31.3.

• Preferred: Understanding of pressure vessel fabrication processes and maintenance procedures.

• Preferred: Understanding of material mechanics and behaviors under extreme temperatures and vibrations.

• Preferred: Knowledge of non-destructive examination procedures (magnetic particle examination and ultrasonic testing) and welding procedures and testing requirements.
