ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Gate Operations and Customer Service

• Greets customers, vendors, and transportation providers in a professional manner.
• Directs traffic and equipment to designated staging areas.
• Communicates yard safety requirements and site-specific procedures.
• Serves as the primary communication point for yard activities through phone, email, Microsoft products, and other company systems.
• Responds to customer, employee, and vendor inquiries promptly and professionally.

Equipment Inventory and Logistics

• Completes logistics documentation for shipping, receiving, and transferring equipment and attachments.
• Processes Equipment Movement Records (EMRs).
• Maintains accurate equipment inventory records within company systems.
• Utilizes Microsoft Dynamics AX, CAT Inspect, Return to Ready, and other inventory management systems to track equipment availability, condition, and location.
• Records all equipment and attachment movements and updates inventory information in a timely manner.

Equipment Inspection and Quality Control

• Performs receiving inspections on all incoming equipment and attachments.
• Inspects returned equipment for damage, abuse, fuel levels, cleanliness, and attachment accountability.
• Completes final inspections of equipment and loads departing the yard to ensure proper documentation, load securement, and safe transportation requirements are met.
• Reports equipment damage, safety concerns, and operational issues to leadership.

Yard Operations and Appearance

• Maintains organization, cleanliness, and professional appearance of the yard.
• Ensures proper staging and display of equipment and attachments according to Caterpillar Retail Presence standards.
• Assists with contamination control procedures and inspections as required.
• Steam cleans equipment and maintains designated wash areas free of debris.
• Supports equipment movement and staging activities throughout the yard.

Security and Facility Support

• Assists in monitoring yard security and access control procedures.
• Reports suspicious activity and security concerns.
• Assists with opening and closing security procedures.
• Ensures security systems and controlled access points are functioning properly.

Equipment Maintenance Support

• Identifies and reports maintenance concerns on equipment and attachments.
• Supports equipment readiness initiatives and Return-to-Ready processes.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products and inventory management systems.
• Ability to learn and utilize Microsoft Dynamics AX, CAT Inspect, Return to Ready, and other company software.
• Knowledge of equipment transportation, load securement, and yard operations.
• Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with customers, vendors, and employees.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to obtain CPR and First Aid certifications.
• Consistent attendance and ability to work overtime with limited notice.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum one year of equipment operation experience required.
• Minimum six months of inventory, logistics, or yard operations experience preferred.
• Minimum six months of customer service experience required.
• Construction equipment, transportation, logistics, or equipment rental industry experience preferred.
• Valid drivers license and acceptable driving record required.
• Must be able to communicate (speak, read, comprehend, write in English).

PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS:

• Ability to stand for long periods of time along with walking, sitting, repetitive climbing stairs, reaching (including but not limited to above-shoulder reaching), repetitive bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, leaning and twisting.
• Exposure to extreme temperatures and environment.
• Ability to safely navigate walking and working on or around uneven and or unstable surfaces.
• Ability to lift up to 60 lbs.
