Description
The Equity Sales and Trading Senior Counsel will play a key role in covering fixed income equity sales and trading for an investment bank. This role is supporting a fast-paced, growing sales and trading business.

Description
Provide legal advice on range of broker-dealer and bank services including institutional trading of equity and fixed income securities, originations of equity and fixed income instruments, ETFs, and municipal securities offerings, and the offering of outsourced trading services.
Providing advice and assistance to business, Credit, Risk and Compliance partners concerning legal, regulatory and reputational issues arising from fixed income equities businesses.
Advising on new markets, new product and service development, and strategic business initiatives
Working closely with internal clients.
Drafting, reviewing and negotiating legal contracts and other documents
Monitoring, interpreting and communicating on proposed regulations and their application to the business
Overseeing and managing the retention of outside counsel on business initiatives and other matters.
Maintaining an understanding of global regulatory issues.
Profile
JD.
NY Bar admission.
Minimum 10 years of experience at a law firm and/or large financial institution covering fixed income and equity sales and trading activities.
Knowledge of current regulatory issues impacting institutional sales and trading and capital markets businesses.
Ability to provide strategic legal advice in a busy environment.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Commitment to staying informed about legal trends in the financial services industry.
