Client Intake Coordinator – Emergency Department (Swing Shift)

$25.00–$32.00/hour + $5.50/hour Shift Differential (6:00 PM–6:00 AM)

Full-Time opportunity in Concord, California

Schedule: Wednesday–Saturday | 4:00 PM–2:30 AM

In Your Day-to-Day You Will:

  • Serve as the first point of contact for emergency clients, gathering patient information with empathy and professionalism.

  • Triage incoming emergency cases and communicate critical information to the clinical team.

  • Obtain patient histories and accurately document medical information in the electronic medical record.

  • Assist with patient intake, including obtaining vital signs when appropriate.

  • Coordinate closely with veterinarians and technicians to prioritize cases and maintain efficient patient flow.

  • Enter service charges accurately during the intake process to support timely invoicing.

  • Prepare and maintain exam rooms for incoming emergency patients.

  • Communicate updates and set expectations with clients during emotionally challenging situations.

  • Support smooth shift transitions and contribute to efficient Emergency Department operations.

  • Work closely with veterinarians, technicians, and support teams.

  • Contribute to a positive, collaborative hospital culture.

What You Bring:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical veterinary experience required; emergency or specialty hospital experience strongly preferred.

  • Strong understanding of veterinary terminology and emergency patient care.

  • Excellent communication, client service, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to remain calm, organized, and compassionate in a fast-paced emergency environment.

  • Comfortable lifting 40+ pounds and standing for extended periods.

  • Bilingual skills are a plus but not required.

  • A collaborative mindset and commitment to exceptional patient and client care.
