Amergis Healthcare has an exciting, long term contract opportunity for an ER CNA at an Air Force Base in Fort Lewis, WA.
Minimum Requirements:
+ Degree/Education: Completion of a Certified Nurse Assistant program
+ Minimum (1) one year experience within the last two years as a certified nurse assistant working in an Emergency Room or Urgent Care post-graduation/course completion.
+ Current BLS certification
+ TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray as requested
+ Current Immunization/Vaccination records as requested
+ Must be a U.S. Citizen
+ Must be at least 18 years of age

**Shift Requirements:**
+ The work schedule includes nights, weekends, and holidays. All health care workers may be scheduled anytime 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year to meet mission requirements. Shifts will be scheduled in advance and consist of days, evenings, and nights, to include weekend coverage (Saturday through Sunday), Federal holidays, and training holidays.
+ Duty Hours:
+ 0645-1915, 0645-1515, 1145-0015, 1145-2015, 1845-0715, 1845-0315
+ In a two-week pay period, CNA will work 80 hours with six 12-hour shifts and one 8-hour shift. Work includes ½ hour unpaid lunch. Work includes rotating nights, weekends, and holidays. No overtime/overage hours will be authorized.
+ Shifts may be adjusted/scheduled anytime 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year to meet mission requirements.
**Clinical Duties (to include by not limited to):**
+ Certified Nurse Assistants (CNA) providing services under this contract shall perform the same clinical duties as those required of any military or Government civil service CNA of similar experience. The CNAs shall perform the following functions, within the scope of accepted practice. This list of duties is not intended to establish either a Amergisum or minimum acceptable level of effort or be an inclusive listing of anticipated duties. Workload includes either scheduled or emergency requirements for care according to standards. The Certified Nurse Assistant shall:
+ Provide age-specific care based on Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) applicable to the inpatient wards or ambulatory clinics; specific health care provider's orders; the physical, mental, and emotional needs of the patient; and the policies and procedures of the MTF.
+ Perform vital sign checks, note deviations, report to team leader, and ensure proper documentation.
+ Provides for the safety, hygiene, personal care, activities of daily living, exercise, and turning and repositioning of patients.
+ Clean and restock procedure and patient rooms with supplies forms and linen, dispose of trash and soiled linen, supplies, and equipment.
+ Assists/Chaperones for providers during diagnostic examination, treatment and/or procedures for patients.
+ Set up examination room, assist the patient with disrobing/dressing based on the level of assistance required, drape and position patient appropriately based on the type of examination and chaperone as necessary.
+ Set up and assist primary care provider with specimen collection, label, and document appropriate patient information prior to transporting specimen to lab for processing.
+ Skills to obtain specimens for cultures (throat, nasal, wound, etc.) and collect other specimens (urine, sputum and blood) IAW SOP and competencies, when appropriate. Completes competencies in phlebotomy for blood specimen collection.
+ Observe patients for distress or changes in condition and report abnormalities to team leader or other senior nursing/medical personnel.
+ Perform role of a Safety Attendant for patients at risk of suicide to ensure the patient is safe and not a harm to themself or others. Complete the Safety Attendant observation worksheet on an ongoing basis and use to report during check-ins with other staff.
+ Perform or assist with minor, acute, and routine primary care tasks in the inpatient setting or ambulatory clinics in accordance with SOPs and training rendered under the supervision of a physician, nurse, nurse practitioner or other assigned personnel.
+ Document observations, care given, and patient's response in the medical record and under the supervision of the RN or LPN. Communicate pertinent patient data to nurse, nurse practitioner, physician assistants or physician as appropriate and complete tasks assigned by the RN or LPN.
+ Assists with orientation and in-service in the work area. Instructs patients and families on various subjects, such as the proper procedure or obtaining laboratory, x-ray, and other diagnostic exams, in accordance with established protocols.
+ Transport patients to other units or departments assuring safe transportation of the patient. Screen patients prior to transport to ensure preoperative medications have been given by the nurse, and that all jewelry and prosthetic devices have been removed.
+ Assist with admission and discharge of patients.
+ Assist with administrative tasks to include answering the phone
