Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week travel assignment. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality, patient-centered emergency care in a fast-paced Emergency Department while utilizing the Epic Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system for accurate documentation. The RN will assess, prioritize, and treat patients with a wide range of acute illnesses and injuries while collaborating with a multidisciplinary healthcare team.

Assignment Details

  • Assignment Length: 13 Weeks

  • Department: Emergency Room (ER)

  • Schedule: 36–48 hours per week; 12-hour shifts (Days, Nights, Weekends, and Holidays as required)

  • Charting System: Epic EMR

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform rapid patient assessments and triage according to established emergency department protocols.

  • Deliver safe, evidence-based nursing care to patients with medical, surgical, traumatic, and behavioral health emergencies.

  • Administer medications, IV therapy, blood products, and other treatments in accordance with physician orders and hospital policies.

  • Monitor and reassess patient conditions, recognizing and responding to changes in clinical status.

  • Assist with emergency procedures including trauma resuscitations, cardiac emergencies, stroke alerts, and code situations.

  • Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapists, and ancillary staff to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

  • Accurately document patient assessments, interventions, medications, and outcomes using the Epic EMR system.

  • Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions.

  • Maintain compliance with infection prevention, patient safety, and regulatory standards.

  • Float to other appropriate units within competency when required by facility needs.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the applicable state or compact state.

  • Minimum of 2 years of recent Emergency Room nursing experience.

  • Previous travel nursing experience preferred but not required.

  • Experience using Epic EMR required.

  • Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications through the American Heart Association.

  • TNCC preferred.

  • NIH Stroke Scale certification preferred.

  • Strong critical thinking, communication, and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.
