Our position is for a full-time Skilled Tradesman at our Roanoke, VA facility. The ideal operator would possess good organizational, time management, problem-solving, and housekeeping skills. A Skilled Tradesman is a highly skilled professional specializing in one or more specific trade professions who provides preventive maintenance, general maintenance and repair functions within the terminal location. This position works closely with terminal operators and leadership to ensure facilities and equipment are adequately maintained and in proper working order at all times. This position reports to Terminal or Maintenance Manager. It will also interface with all employees within the terminal, as well as customers, vendors and employees from other parts of the company. Specifically, this individual will work closely with outside vendors for any necessary maintenance and repairs within the terminal requiring third party engagement.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Able to perform all of the Terminal Operator I and Operator II functions proficiently.
  • Ability to perform advanced functions as required by terminal including PMA, Emulsion and Injecting Concentrate.
  • Developing and maintaining preventive maintenance schedules for all tanks and equipment.
  • Maintaining parts inventory for repairs and maintenance.
  • Ordering required parts and equipment needed for general maintenance and repair
  • Able to perform major maintenance and repairs on machinery and equipment including rebuilding pumps.
  • Assist with the development and execution of project work.
  • Train terminal operators on performing maintenance inspections and general maintenance tasks.
  • Other duties as required by Terminal Manager.

Job Qualifications:

Physical Requirements:

  • Be able to stand and/or walk for long periods of time on concrete floors and outside surfaces.
  • Able to work outside in varying weather conditions, varying cold, hot & humid temperatures.
  • Manual dexterity; ability to reach; able to bend and move with agility.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 75 lbs.
