Description:

  • INTERNAL UH CANDIDATES ONLY*

Provides advanced technical expertise, including full life cycle systems support and technical assistance for core enterprise application systems. Leads the analysis, development, and enhancement of complex enterprise application systems and programs utilizing core and non-core technologies. Manages application projects as assigned. Pursuant to the State of Texas Executive Order No. GA-48, this position researches, works on, or has access to critical infrastructure and requires the ability to maintain the security or integrity of the University infrastructure. This position requires personnel be routinely reviewed to determine whether or not criminal history or continuous connections for the government or political apparatus of a foreign adversary might prevent the employee from being able to maintain the security or integrity of the infrastructure.

  1. Provides senior technical service to enterprise application systems users by analyzing, designing, and programming viable solutions for complex business problems in accordance with user specifications.

  2. Designs, codes, tests, debugs, modifies and troubleshoots core and non-core technology enterprise application programs and ad-hoc programs.

  3. Analyzes complex enterprise application processes and integrated computer systems and their underlying data structures; identifies and resolves complex problems.

  4. Defines, analyzes and documents business processes, practices and requirements for enterprise application systems.

  5. Provides guidance to users in testing business processes; defines, conducts and monitors system test procedures.

  6. Manages projects involving two or more programmers; provides technical assistance and training to lower-level staff.

  7. Documents tables, data structures, run streams, and programs according to generally accepted practices.

  8. Develops technical documents pertaining to enterprise application systems design and programming requirements; develops user manuals.

  9. Assists with the development and enforcement of standards, policies and procedures.

  10. Evaluates and recommends emerging technologies; stays abreast of new technologies and techniques and provides technical guidance to lower-level staff.

  11. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

MQ: Requires a thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical or professional discipline; or the basic knowledge of more than one professional discipline. Knowledge of the discipline is normally obtained through a formal, directly job-related 4 year degree from a college or university or an equivalent in-depth specialized training program that is directly related to the type of work being performed.

Requires a minimum of five (5) years of directly job-related experience.

Additional Posting Information:

Requires 3-5 years of strong expertise in PeopleTools, Integration Broker, AWE, and advanced PeopleCode to maintain system stability and scalability.
