This position will be working throughout the ESD 113 Region. The ESD 113 Region includes school districts throughout Grays Harbor, Lewis, Mason, Pacific, and Thurston counties.
This position is scheduled for 7 hours/day and 180 days/year.

Purpose Statement
The job of Licensed Practical Nurse is done for the purpose of implementing, managing, and delivering school health services to school districts and/or programs or agencies, under the direction of the School Nurse. The school nurse scope of practice is defined by law and regulation and professional school nursing standards.

Knowledge
Knowledge is required to perform algebra and/or geometry; read technical information, compose a variety of documents, and/or facilitate group discussions; and analyze situations to define issues and draw conclusions. Specific knowledge-based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: health standards and hazards; safety practices and procedures; stages of child development; pediatric and family nursing practices; community health concepts; and pertinent policies, codes, regulations and laws.
Skills
Skills are required to perform multiple, highly complex, technical tasks with a need to periodically upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions. Specific skill-based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: adhering to safety practices; administering first aid; handling hazardous materials/waste; operating equipment used in clinical settings; operating standard office equipment including using pertinent software applications; and preparing and maintaining accurate records.
Ability
Ability is required to schedule activities and/or meetings; gather and/or collate data; and consider a number of factors when using equipment. Flexibility is required to work with others in a variety of circumstances; work with data utilizing specific, defined processes; and operate equipment using a variety of standardized methods. Ability is also required to work with a diversity of individuals and/or groups; work with similar types of data; and utilize a variety of job-related equipment. Problem solving is required to identify issues and create action plans. Problem solving with data may require independent interpretation; and problem solving with equipment is limited to moderate.

Work Environment
The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling, and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 40% sitting, 40% walking, and 20% standing. The job is performed in a generally hazard-free environment.
Education and Experience
Education (Required): Community College and/or Vocational School degree with study in job-related area.
