Qualifications:
- Must have a professional educator license issued by the state of Illinois with an ESL endorsement/approval, and LBS1 required
Must have experience and passion for working with students with disabilities
Must have exemplary interpersonal and communication skills
Must have the ability to travel to/from various locations in the district as needed.
Role Overview:
The purpose of an ESL teacher is to support systematic English language development, support access to
grade-level content learning, and serve as an advocate and local expert to support colleagues and school(s) in better meeting ELLs needs
Key Responsibilities:- Accommodate, modify, and adapt lessons and curriculum as needed to meet individual student needs
- Support in the classroom with all disciplines.
- Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the developmental levels and interests of their students
